The University’s parking enforcement hours are be 7-days a week, 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.  All vehicles must park head-in only, and have the license plate registered with the university. Campus visitors should follow the instructions provided by the school, department, venue, or event organizer. Alternatively, the following options are available.

Daytime Visitors

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Visitor’s metered spaces are located at the following locations on a first-come-first-served basis:

  • Pavia and Levante Garages 
  • Memorial Drive (by Richter Library) 
  • the Yellow, Gray and Burgundy color zones 

These locations use PayByPhone for payment, and on-foot pay stations are available in the general area – visitor’s parking map. The parking session is limited to the posted parking location number; if the vehicle is moved between the Pavia and Levante Garages, the Yellow, Gray, or Burgundy color zones, a new parking session must be initiated per color zone. Using PayByPhone or the on-foot pay stations, automatically registers the vehicle’s license plate with the university.

UM Basketball Games

Lots 425N and 425S in front of the Watsco Center and the surrounding Lots 431,434N, H100, 443 and 444 are reserved, these lots are not available for general parking. Follow signage and parking attendants for available parking in surrounding lots off of Ponce de Leon Blvd.

Non-University of Miami Events

Nights & Weekend Visitors

Monday - Friday, 4:00 p.m. - 11: 00 p.m. and Weekends 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.

During these hours, all parking lots and garages are PayByPhone capable to facilitate parking payment, and on-foot pay stations are available in the general areas – visitor’s parking map. The parking session is valid in any color zone, and it is not limited to the posted location number. For example, a three-hour parking session initiated in the Red color zone allows for the vehicle to be moved between color zones within the three-hour parking session. Using PayByPhone or the on-foot pay stations, automatically registers the vehicle’s license plate with the university

Parking Cost

PayByPhone is $2.50/hourly, which includes the transaction fee. Parking session of 4-hours or more converts to all day parking at $11. On-foot pay station is $2.50/hourly; plus $0.25 cents transaction fee when extending a parking session from a Pay Station via phone. Credit card only (cash not accepted).

METRORAIL

The Watsco Center is located across the street from the University METRORAIL Station

Miami-Dade County’s 22-mile, elevated rapid transit system runs from Kendall through South Miami, Coral Gables, and downtown Miami; to the Civic Center/Jackson Memorial Hospital area; and to Brownsville, Liberty City, Hialeah, and Medley in northwest Miami-Dade, with connections to Broward and Palm Beach counties at the Tri-Rail/METRORAIL transfer station.

The 22 accessible METRORAIL stations are about one-mile apart, providing easy access for bus riders, pedestrians, and passengers being dropped off and picked up. Parking is available at 17 METRORAIL stations.

Fees:
Cost per trip is $2.25. To ride the METRORAIL, you will need an EASY Card or EASY Ticket as the new faregates do not accept cash. To obtain an EASY Card or EASY Ticket, walk over to one of the EASY Card vending machines located at the entrance of each rail station. Obtain and load a card or ticket using cash or a valid credit card. Then use the card or ticket to pay your fare at the faregate, by tapping the EASY Card or EASY Ticket on the electronic METRORAIL fare gates.

Reduced fare ($1.10) is available to Medicare recipients, people with disabilities, and Miami-Dade students in grades K-12.

Hours of Operation:
METRORAIL runs from 5 a.m. until midnight seven days a week. Trains arrive every 10 minutes during weekday rush hours, every 15 minutes at midday, and every 30 minutes after 7 p.m. until closing. Weekend service runs every 30 minutes until closing.
